"Like American one-offs Regina Spektor and Joanna Newsom, Singaporean Dawn Fung pursues her own uniquely folky muse to whatever climes it desires.

In The Evening Sun, her intriguing second album, feels out of place in such synth-pop times - for the better. It clears the air and cleanses the mind.

In Love bravely dives into hardcore Celtic folk of yore, with a windy harmonium shadowing her pastoral delivery; while Sunday revels in chamber theatrics as if regaling kids at, well, a Sunday school.

Numbers ups the game, with an Aesop Fable-type tale of numerology tethered to an unexpected serpentine cello.

She's expanded her palette. Perhaps, she may consider a tie-up with The Analog Girl's Mei Wong and come up with a folktronica revolution next?"
